March 6 – April 10, 2022

Over the next several weeks, we will learn how to respond to the Holy Spirit’s activity in and through this church family we call Seven Marks. If you are a follower of Jesus, you have the Holy Spirit living and working in you. As a result of this work, the Spirit empowers each of us with unique gifts to bless others while bringing God glory....

In his last hours, Jesus prayed for us and people who would believe in Him. He prayed that the Holy Spirit would guide us to come together in biblical community. Our unity is to be a declaration of God’s love to a broken and hurting world. ...

God created us to live in community with one another, but relationships can be messy. We long to belong, but often the people we are closest to are the ones who hurt us most. So what do we do? How do we deal with this tension? In a word, reconciliation....

Christians in the early church demonstrated radical generosity with their time and possessions. They had received grace through the Holy Spirit, and the fullness of their hearts just spilled over into one another's lives. What we do as the Seven Marks community in the city and around the world will be determined by how we respond to the Holy Spirit...

Loneliness and isolation are four times more likely to be the norm for people now than 30 years ago. God didn't create us to live that way. We are made to be in community. In a caring community where we can help carry one another's burdens as we grow in our relationship with Jesus....

This week brings us to the last sign of a community that is filled and empowered by the Spirit of God. Namely, when the Spirit of God is present, there should be something compelling, something different, that you can’t find anywhere else....

After following and learning from Jesus for three years, his disciples were left stunned after his death on the cross. Many didn't initially recognize him when he appeared to them after the resurrection. As he spent more time with them, their eyes were opened to who Jesus was, and their lives were forever changed....
