Teach Us to Pray, Part 6

TEACH US TO PRAY
Listening for God
July 4, 2021 | By Paul Crouthamel

Luke 5:16
He often withdrew to deserted places and prayed.

Henri Nouwen
“Without solitude it is virtually impossible to live a spiritual life…we do not take the spiritual life seriously if we do not set aside some time to be with God and listen to Him.”

Solitude
Going to a place where you can be alone with God.

Mark 1:36-37

Deuteronomy 6:4-5
“Hear, O Israel: The Lord our God, the Lord is one. You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your might.

Listening For God
2. Train your brain to listen.

John 5:19-20
So Jesus said to them, “Truly, truly, I say to you, the Son can do nothing on His own accord, but only what He sees the Father doing. For whatever the Father does, the Son does likewise. For whatever the Father does, that the Son does likewise. For the Father loves the Son and shows him all that he himself is doing.
