Upcoming Opportunities

Wake Up and Read Program

The Wake Up and Read Program is designed to engage and educate our community about the importance of childhood literacy and to increase access to literacy resources and opportunities for all children. They are in need of volunteers to prepare books and materials for distribution.

The Diaper Train

The Diaper Train provides diapers to low-income families in Wake County, improving the lives of babies and toddlers. The program is run by volunteers and serves 1,000 individual children each month. Volunteer opportunities include diaper packaging, packing donation bags, and facility/grounds projects.

Neighbor to Neighbor’s mission is to reverse the effects of poverty through mentoring relationships that focus specifically on education, development, and spirituality. It takes over 300 volunteers each year to make Neighbor to Neighbor. They are looking for individuals who would like to help with mentoring and tutoring.

Note in the Pocket

Note in the Pocket provides quality clothing to homeless and impoverished children and families with dignity and love. There are a variety of ways that you can partner with us to help improve the life of someone less fortunate: clothing processing, administrative tasks, clothing request delivery, donation pick-ups, or their mobile volunteer program.

Learning Together

Learning Together’s super-inclusive environment aims to reduce inequities in early childhood education by addressing several contributing factors including issues stemming from race, socio-economic status, and disabilities. They offer volunteer opportunities year-round and work to ensure opportunities are beneficial to Learning Together and meaningful for volunteers.

We Will Walk With You

We Will Walk With You has been established to meet families of children with developmental delays where they are, help them find a clear path forward, and walk with them along their paths. They serve families in and around Wake County.

Are you ready to engage, but still have questions?

We know that it can be overwhelming to figure out how to take your first step in serving in our city. If that’s you, please reach out to our team and we would love to help you find the right place to jump in.
