In the Fullness of Time, Part 1

IN THE FULLNESS OF TIME
Gratitude
November 16, 2025 | By Josh Via

In a season marked by hurry, pressure, and entitlement, Pastor Josh reminds us that true gratitude is born from truly seeing the grace of God. Looking at the story of the ten lepers in Luke 17, we explore how pursuing the Giver, practicing worshipful gratitude, and remembering His faithfulness can reshape our lives. This message invites us to slow down and recognize the grace that’s been right in front of us all along.

God’s Riches At Christ’s Expense

Your recognition of grace determines your level of gratitude.

Philip Yancey
“Grace teaches us that God loves because of who God is, not because of who we are.”

Luke 17:11-19
On the way to Jerusalem he was passing along between Samaria and Galilee. And as he entered a village, he was met by ten lepers, who stood at a distance and lifted up their voices, saying, “Jesus, Master, have mercy on us.” When he saw them he said to them, “Go and show yourselves to the priests.” And as they went they were cleansed. Then one of them, when he saw that he was healed, turned back, praising God with a loud voice; and he fell on his face at Jesus’ feet, giving him thanks. Now he was a Samaritan. Then Jesus answered, “Were not ten cleansed? Where are the nine? Was no one found to return and give praise to God except this foreigner?” And he said to him, “Rise and go your way; your faith has made you well.”

How do we deepen our appreciation for the grace of God so that gratitude becomes a way of life?

When Jesus encounters the unclean, he doesn’t become unclean, He makes the unclean clean.

“Your worst days are never so bad that you are beyond the reach of God’s grace. And your best days are never so good that you are beyond the need of God’s grace.”

3. Prioritize the Habit of Remembering

Deuteronomy 8:11-14
Be careful that you do not forget the Lord your God, failing to observe his commands, his laws and his decrees that I am giving you this day. Otherwise, when you eat and are satisfied, when you build fine houses and settle down, and when your herds and flocks grow large and your silver and gold increase and all you have is multiplied, then your heart will become proud and you will forget the Lord your God, who brought you out of Egypt, out of the land of slavery.
