Around the Table, Part 2

When Jesus first envisioned the Church, He didn’t see a nonprofit, a business, or a building where a random collection of individuals gather on Sundays, He saw a family. And when it comes to building a family, there is no better way to do it than by sharing a meal around a table.

Mark 3:31-33
“Look, Your mother, your brothers, and sisters are outside! They’re searching for you.” “Who is my mother?” Replied Jesus. “Who are my brothers?”

– Embedded in the group and does what is in group’s best interest.
– The group has priority over the individual.

They sold their possessions and belongings and divided them up to everyone in proportion to their various needs. Day by day they were all together attending the Temple.
